The origin of Boba Tea, Bubble Tea, whatever you want to call it, it all started in Taiwan in the early 1980s. Boba was a staple and extremely popular in Taiwan and neighboring Asian countries. In the early 1990s Boba Tea made a huge jump to the US, becoming a loved delicacy and has exponentially grown in traction.
